Katie and Patrick met on, you guessed it, the dating app Hinge. After some time of texting and talking, they planned their first date.
Originally the pair had decided to meet at a neutral location for a bite to eat - giving each the opportunity to run if the other were truly an axe murderer. But Katie’s pup Jojo decided to injure herself, (hmmm, maybe that dog had a plan) which caused the plans to change. Patrick decided on bringing over pizza and wine and Katie agreed to this stranger coming over, going against her self-imposed safety rules.
Poor Patrick was met and first interrogated (gently interrogated) by Katie’s close friend and neighbor Gina, and by Katie’s other dog, Coal, even before he got to meet Katie.
The date was “perfect”, except for the fact that Katie forgot to offer Patrick a piece of the cake she baked that was sitting in full view on the counter, and Patrick ran out early due to “work the next day” without even as much as a goodnight kiss.
Katie thought she must have lost her touch, only later to find out that Patrick had a plan - he wanted to show her he was a true gentleman!
Within three months, one of their leases was up and they decided to move in together.
Katie complained of the cold in Massachusetts, and could transfer anywhere. Patrick had wanted to work in the Pentagon. It worked out beautifully, landing themselves in Northern Virginia. They have built a beautiful life together, filled with hopes and dreams.
Oh, the dogs you ask? Yes, Jojo’s paw healed. It turns out Jojo is accident prone and has spent this time training Patrick on how to care for her. Coal is quite proud of himself, having picked out this perfect suitor for Katie, and has decided to spend the rest of his time lounging in the glory of this little family. Also, happily ever after.
